AR Rahman launches the Bharat Maestro Awards
“India’s classical music is the soul of our culture. The Bharat Maestro(a) Awards are designed to recognise and nurture the next generation of musicians, while also honouring the personalities behind these talents, ensuring that this rich legacy continues to thrive on the global stage.” Said the Academy award and Grammy award-winning composer, AR Rahman.
The unveiled logo itself is a powerful representation of this vision. It features the Tanpura, symbolising the common thread that links the two forms of classical music, while also embodying the unity of India’s musical heritage. The design incorporates the world map, reinforcing the award’s objective to inspire the younger generation to build a strong foundation in music and represent India globally. The logo is a result of a creative collaboration led by AR Rahman, with contributions from artists Sruthi Veer, Medha Srivastava, Shakthisree Gopalan, KannikaUrs, and international artist Leonard Pauli.
This prestigious award is set to not only celebrate musical excellence but also offer recipients valuable opportunities to perform at renowned music festivals, amplifying their global recognition.
The Bharat Maestro(a) Awards are set to take place in the second half of 2025 and is poised to become a platform for nurturing and promoting the next generation of classical musicians, empowering them to elevate India’s musical legacy on the world stage.
